We are here pleased to give our comments on our recent China travel by offering some tour details. Generally, we were satisfied with this tour organization, for example, food, hotels, tour guides etc. Overall we very much enjoyed the meals provided, the most enjoyed was the Dumpling Dinner on day 5, although Chinese food was not to our western taste. We found the Dumpling Dinner not only delicious but our waitress explained the meal and pointed out the humorous shapes of the dumplings. We had our guides, John, Susan, Helen and Ryan. They were so knowledgeable about the history of their country and offered us valuable information in a timely, professional manner. Helen in Guilin was especially very helpful in relation to my slight disability and both her and the driver, Mr Chen, ensured my safety when getting in and out of the vehicle. Our Shanghai guide Ocean's knowledge of the English language and pronunciation was easy for us to understand, and where there was slight difficulty Ocean would repeat with patience so that we did understand. The drivers are very safe, patient and experienced driver. The traffic in China is more chaotic than we are used to, but we never felt unsafe in their hands. The cars were clean at all times and there was more than sufficient bottled water provided. The hotels we stayed at is worth mentioning as they were very comfortable and clean, with lots of choices for breakfasts (and other meals). We have traveled extensively and have a lot to compare this tour with and TravelChinaGuide should be pleased to have John, Susan, Helen and Ryan on board. ... More

I would like to say something about my recent tour. Travelchinaguide did an exceptional job for arranging this program for us. The guides were very knowledgeable and fluent in English. Linda in Beijing did a great job. She took us to a great restaurant for lunch second day which was a la carte and had our first of many fantastic experiences with Chinese cuisine which is the world's best. That comes from a great cook who also lived in France's gastronomic capital for a year. The tours in Beijing were very well done. Linda also took us to a fabulous show that day. The concierge also made a great recommendation the first evening for dinner. The next leg of the journey was Xi'an and we think it's beautiful enough to be included in tours of China. We had a memorable time to the famous Terracotta Warriors. Kevin was a great guide in Guilin and Yangshuo. He suggested the "Impression Show" on the river which was great performance and we also took the river cruise in Guilin along the restored water front. The Li River was memorable and the visit to famer's yard in Yangshuo was a good introduction to the countryside and Chinese traffic. The farming village was fascinating. Tracy was an excellent guide for the Shanghai part. All of the tour event were great and she along with other guides picked up on our enjoyment of food and we customized each meal at our expense. Hong Kong was mostly on our own except for a half day with Ben. Hong Kong is very user friendly for a westerner. The dining experiences there were first class. We saw the evening laser show from a restaurant 20 stories high. Hotels met our expectation as 5 star with the Sheraton Shanghai Hongkou Hotel being the best. We would be glad to recommend their services. ... More

Overall the experience was very good. In fact it was one of the best tours we have been on in China, as we have travelled extensively. We look forward to using your tour agency again in the future.

Here is our review of our wonderful trip. Thanks so much for putting such an excellent tour together.

Beijing: Our hotel was excellent. It was our second favorite hotel of the trip. Hotel staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. Kevin, our guide, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable of the sites, and very friendly. We enjoyed our rickshaw ride through the old Hutong alleys. The Forbidden City was majestic and impressive. We also enjoyed climbing the Great Wall. The restaurants in Beijing and at our hotel were great. We mostly enjoyed the restaurant on the second day where we had lunch.

Xian: Jacky was an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable of the sites, very friendly, and gave us good shopping recommendations. The terracotta warriors (said to be the tomb of Qinshihuang) is very impressive, and at the same time amazed by the scale of the funerary objects. The small goose pagoda was another site we enjoyed very much. We feel very privileged to know about Chinese Buddhist culture from Jacky. The hotel in Xian was good. Luxurious looking accommodations at a very reasonable price, and very comfortable. The food at the hotel was excellent. We enjoyed the restaurant very much. We enjoyed very much the noodle restaurant that Jacky suggested us for dinner.

Guilin: All of our guides were excellent, however Julie was our favorite guide. During our cruise on Li River, Julie organized the history and story helping us understand the the rural life in Guilin. We also enjoyed the Elephant Trunk Hill very much. The Reed Flute Cave is beautiful and majestic. Our favorite food in this portion of the trip was the different snack shops visited in Guilin and Yangshuo. We enjoyed very much getting to meet local farmers and having a sample try of farming work.

Shanghai: Ocean was an excellent and very knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed all of the places in Shanghai, especially the Bund. The lunch restaurant was average. The curry chicken stuffed inside a coconut was delicious. Our hotel was excellent.

We would like to send our sincere thanks to those ladies counselors and these guides at the local agencies in each city who helped us have the best vacation ever in China from Nov 21st – Dec 1st, 2019. Without them, we will never decide to go on with our dream to go to see the Great Wall and Terracotta Soldiers!

Your arrangements were superb. All the Guides were professional as were the drivers and all vehicles were satisfactory. The food was also one of the delights of the Holiday and very well chosen. We thank you very much for all your hard work. We will be back in touch when we are in China.

Thank you so much for your assistance planning and booking our trip. You were very helpful and knowledgeable and made the process so easy and calmed my nerves about booking online and not through a local travel agent. The whole trip went very well. We have already recommended your service to several of my friends.

We had an awesome holiday. Every aspect of our holiday was perfectly organized by this company. There was nothing we would have done differently. The guides were superb. The meals we enjoyed have changed my mind forever about Chinese food! I have directed many would be travelers to this website. Their thoughtfulness in organizing a surprise birthday cake for my husband, complete with candles and serving utensils really touched us deeply. Thank you very much.

Overall, our whole journey was a fantastic experience. I am pleased to offer the comments below. The food at the meals arranged for us ranged from adequate to excellent, and there was always a very large quantity of food. The A La Carte meals were very good and it was fun to choose our dishes. The restaurants in Beijing were especially good. All of the guides had very good to excellent English skills except our guide in Guilin, whose English was a little weak. In particular, Candy in Beijing spoke English extremely well and was very outgoing and enthusiastic. Tanya in Shanghai spoke English almost like a U.S. native, which was amazing to us, since she had never visited an English-speaking country. She also has a fantastic personality. All of the guides were very knowledgeable about the places we visited. Lily in Xian had an especially extensive knowledge of Chinese history. All of the drivers were very professional, competent, and nice people. The cars were all extremely clean and well maintained. We were picked up at each site as soon as we were done touring, so that we did not need to waste time waiting for the drivers. Mr. Fong, our driver in Beijing and the Great Wall, was especially personable and my daughter, who speaks Chinese, enjoyed talking to him. Our most memorable driver was Mr. Yong, in Xian. Mr. Yong is an excellent and very professional driver and we felt very safe with him. He also is a very nice person who has had many interesting life experiences and my daughter had a lot of fun talking with him in Chinese. We can’t say enough thanks for such a memorable vacation for my family. ... More
